Erik Seidel
Born in New York, Erik Seidel is known because of his good behaviour. Initially, he worked in stock markets, but later moved to the world of poker. Erik Seidel has been in the international circuit since the last two decades. It was in the year of 1988, when he first started playing poker games.
Apart from being a cash game player, he is one of the best players when it comes to WSOP tournaments. He always has the same expression, whether he confronts a win or a loss.
Erik Seidel became popular after a strong finish in the 1988 ITM Main Event. He finished second. His next achievement came in 1994, when he won the Diamond Jim Brady No Limit Hold’em event defeating some of the top names in the game. In the same year, he won the Poker Classic USD 1,500 Pot Limit Omaha. In the later part of 1998, he won the International Pot Limit Rendezvous (A USD 5,000 Buy-ins Event).
In 2000, he stood fifth in couple of tournaments: Legends of Poker and Global Pot Limit. In 2001, he won a bracelet and finished second in the tournament with a winning of over USD 400,000. He missed the first place just for one card. After some bad patches in the year following that, he had an excellent season during 2003. His popularity reached another level when he won the World Series of Poker in 2007.
Erik Seidel has won eighteen tournaments till date. Until WSOP 2009, he won more than 4 million dollar in tournaments. His total earnings stand at $9,208,245. He has won eight bracelets. Finishing second in the main event of World Series of Poker made Erik Seidel renowned. Again, winning the first place in 2003 Five Star World Poker Classic and No Limit event in 2004 made him a distinguished player in the poker history.
