Stuey Ungar
Considered amongst the greatest players of the century, Stu Ungar is a renowned poker player hailing from New York City. He won a local tournament when he was only 10. After this win, he got attracted to the poker game. Thus, there was no doubt when he ended up choosing it as his carrier. He was a part of the game for about thirty-five years. He is accepted as a player of good spirit and also of remarkable patience. This is what makes him different from all the poker players.
He finished second in WSOP No Limit Hold’em in 1980. In the very next year, he won the title of No Limit Deuce to Seven. In two consecutive years (1980 and 1981), he won the main event of World Series of Poker. He just missed the first place in WSOP seven card studs in 1980.
In 1983, Stu Ungar finished second in event five of Seven Card Stud WSOP. However, he returned to winning mode from WSOP 1983 Seven Card Studs. After this, he was unable to win a tournament for a long time. In 1991, he ended at ninth in seventh events of WSOP seven card studs. From this performance, he gained confidence. However, his end days were as remarkable as the middle period of his career.
He has won seven bracelets. He won more than USD 2-millions. He is the player, who has won the main event at WSOP thrice. Stu Ungar has also won the Amarillo Slim Super Bowl of Poker three times. He is recognised as a Hold’em poker player of all time. In addition, no other player in the world has played poker games for a long time. This is what makes him a legend amongst all the poker players.
